Introducing Powderful - The ski / snowboarding tracking app for iPhone.

Powderful, a must-have for skiers & snowboarders, is your digital companion on the slopes, offering two killer features + many other unique cool features:
1. Detect beginnings & ends of runs automatically and track runs on the background while you are using other applications.
2. Talk to you as you powering down the mountain to keep you informed with various useful information, e.g. speed & time.

1, Set it & Forget it
The only thing you need to do is simply tapping the Start Tracking button before your 1st run, and then enjoy your day, we will take care of the rest.
Powderful tracks your runs automatically, our intelligent algorithm detects the beginning and the end of a run by constantly tracking altitude changes. For say, when you get on a chairlift ride, Powderful ends the run automatically and waits for a new run to begin.

2, Speech Alerts
As you enjoy your day on the mountain, Powderful can talk to you to keep you informed.
Need to know your speed? Just create a target speed alert, Powder will speak to you once you reach your speed target.
Need to know what time it is? Just set a time announcement interval (e.g. 15 minutes), and Powderful will keep you updated accordingly (by announcing time once per quarter).
Powderful is fully compatible with iPod. Before an alert being announced, Powderful will turn down the music volume temporary, and mix the alert with your music, how cool is that?

3, Pixel-Perfect UI
Although Powderful tracks runs automatically, the customized user interface is handcrafted for maximum readability & visibility on the mountain, including a specially designed, easy-to-use dial control. Whenever you want to review your stats during a break, the simple interface is a pleasure to use. Beside, Powderful also supports high resolution retina display.

4, Map Support & GG Earth Export
Review your runs on satellite map view right on your phone. You can zoom in to review your speed & direction at any point during a run, as well as checking out stats, including top speed, average speed, vertical drop, and etc.
You can also export your runs to GG Earth KML files to view your runs in the GG Earth desktop application, in the stunning 3D view.

5, Power Management
You can set up a low-battery threshold (e.g. 30%), that once your phone battery drops below this level, Powderful will automatically stop tracking to preserve battery power, so that you dont have to worry about running out of battery.
You can also ask Powderful to keep you informed about your battery level via Speech Alert.

6, Social Networking
Share your run to Facebook or Twitter is just a tap away.

7, Metric & Imperial Unit Support
Meters or feet, KPH or MPH.

Q: What device does Powderful support?
A: Powderful runs on both iPhone 4 and iPhone 3Gs. We do recommend iPhone 4 since iPhone 4 has a better GPS chip.

Q: Does Powderful track runs in background?
A: Yes, Powderful take full advantage of iOS background support. You can use any other app at the same time, while Powderful track your runs.

Q: Can I manually override the automatic run detection process?
A: Yes, you can manually start / end a run.

Q: Sometime Powderful incorrectly detects a run when I begin to ride a chairlift.
A: Some chairlifts actually descend a little bit before rise up, try increase the run detection threshold to avoid this problem.

* GPS tracking services require iPhone 3Gs or iPhone4. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Excellent Tracking App for Slopes
I really like this app because it tracks me really well when I have excellent reception. The only issue is that on the ski slopes in Lake Tahoe reception isnt always good and the app suffers at these points. I find myself missing runs and it throws off the totals and the avg speeds. I must say it tracked my speed really well when it was working, I was going anywhere from 50 mph to 8 mph and it got all of that! It is fun to keep track and well worth the .99 cents but expect a huge battery drain and bring a car charger, my iPhone drained to battery alert level everytime if I Snowboarded near a full day.
pretty good

One run or twenty?
This app is good but only if you manually start and stop each run. If you rely on the app to detect when you have started or finished a run you will end up with many small parts of the run.
Good cant wait till it is great
Once a couple of glitches are fixed and the ability to email all your runs at once and for the speed points show up in google earth this app will be SICK!!!
Review
Its a really cool idea but im having trouble with the app crashing a lot. Everytime i try to look at the stats that show speed and everything for every run it crashes. Which is very annoying. It also breaks runs into little segments. Still cool app tho.
